Canvas printing FAQ's

What type of canvas do you use?

The Premium Photo Canvas uses a 380gsm 100% Museum Grade Cotton Canvas. The Classic Photo Canvas uses a 320gsm Poly Cotton Canvas. Both types of canvas have been specially chosen to show off your photo canvas prints to their very best.

What type of ink do you use?

We use Genuine Epson Ultra Chrome Inks. The come with a 75 year fade resistant guarantee. Find out more on our canvas for life page here

What type of frame will I receive?

Our Premium Photo Canvas has 2cm deep traditional stretcher bar, complete with wedges for re tightening. Made from Finger Jointed European pine, for a more rigid frame. 7% moisture content. FSC certified wood from sustainable sources.

Our Classic Photo Canvas has a 2cm deep Pre assembled Stretcher bar. Made from FSC Certified European Pine, from sustainable sources. 10% moisture content.

What type of image can I use?

The beauty of canvas printing is that it can be any kind of image that you like. It can be from a laptop, phone, digital camera, a negative, a CD, a memory stick/card and of course an original Photo.

Can I use a Facebook image?

Yes you can. However if the quality is low you maybe restricted to a smaller size photo canvas. You will be able to assess the quality of the picture when you use our upload tool.

What format should my Image be?

A high quality JPEG file is the best way to save your image. If your image is saved in a different format and you cannot upload it please email it to: sales@photomouse.co.uk.

What if my image is poor quality?

You will be able to tell if your image is poor quality as it will look pixelated or blurry when you add it to the upload tool and choose your size. In this instance we would recommend using a better quality image as it will affect the end result. It may be worth uploading a few different images and see what canvas you can create!

How do I get my original photo on canvas?

If you have a scanner set it to about 300 dpi. Then wipe over your scanner and your image with a clean dry cloth. Scan your image. Save it as a high quality JPEG. Then upload your image or email the image to sales@photomouse.co.uk. If you need any help with this then please contact us here and we will be happy to help.

What if I do not have a scanner?

Do it the old fashioned way and put it on the post. If the image is the only copy it may be worth sending it recorded delivery. We will return your original photograph with your canvas. Our address is:

Will my image look the same as it did on the screen?

All laptop screens are not the same.... unless you have had your screen calibrated then the colours on your screen may be marginally different than ours. If exact colour matching is very important for you then please contact us to discuss your colour matching requirements. We cannot accept any returns for colour matching issues. We will print exactly what is uploaded. If you have any concerns about your print quality please contact us to discuss it.

Can I turn my colour photo in to black and white or sepia?

Yes simply select the option on the upload tool. You can find more detailed information about this on our canvas options tab on the product info page.

What is gallery wrap?

Gallery wrap is when the image continues around the side of the frame. So non- gallery wrap would have a white edge and gallery wrap would have a photographic edge. If you take a look at our canvas options tab on the product info page, you can see some images that illustrate the difference.

Not all images suit a gallery wrap as you may lose some of the subject from the front of the canvas. You will be able to select this feature in the upload tool and see if you would prefer this effect.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro and Solo. We also accept Paypal, Cheques and Bank Transfers. Please contact us if you would like any further information.

When will I receive my canvas?

If you order before 3pm and take advantage of our 24 hour delivery you will receive your canvas tomorrow.  If you order at the weekend your canvas will be printed and dispatched on Monday for delivery on Tuesday.

We use Royal Mail for our free delivery on a 3-4 day service.

Can I Pay over the phone?

Our phone number is for customer service advice only.  As you will need to upload your image and crop your image, you must do that via the website.  That ensures that your original image is cropped to your requirements.  However if you are having difficulty with this process please feel free to call us and we can talk you through the process of ordering online. We are always happy to help you create your perfect photo canvas.
